Sustainability
Our clothing
Our mission is to offer sustainable fashion alternatives that combine unique artwork with clothing that looks and feels great. Depending on the product you buy, at least two of the following standards and certifications will apply since we source our clothes from different suppliers:
Fair Wear
The Fair Wear Foundation is a not profit organisation that works to ensure good working conditions for workers in garment factories, including the payment of fair wages and working hours.
GOTS - Global Organic Textile Standard
GOTS is an internationally recognised organic textile standard. Certification ensures the organic status of textiles from the harvesting of the raw materials through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing all the way to labelling, in order to provide credible assurances to the consumer.
OCS Blended - Organic Content Standard
This standard verifies the presence and amount of organic material in a final product, which can range from between 5% and 100%. This standard applies to products such as Slicka and Going Bananas, which are a mixture of 60% recycled organic cotton and 40% recycled polyester.
Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX®
This standard certifies that every element of an item of clothing has been tested for harmful substances and that none are present, i.e., the article is harmless to human health.
What else are we doing?
- All deliveries of orders made through our website are carbon neutral. We’re sourcing offsets from the Acapa – Bajo Mira y Frontera Forest Conservation Project in Colombia through Pachama to counteract the emissions from shipping every order.
- Zero plastic. We ship your products using only recycled paper packaging (no bubble wrap!), which you can also reuse or recycle when you're done with it.
- We donate part of the profits from the sale of every garment to Empower, a platform that enables individuals and companies to collect and recycle plastic waste.
- We virtually sponsored a Whale Shark with the World Wildlife Fund. We just thought it was an awesome idea for an awesome creature. Buying our Whale Share sweater helps pay for that.
